Leesburg Air Show 2025 – The annual event in September

Every September, Leesburg, Northern Virginia, hosts a spectacular free aviation event called the Leesburg Air Show. This event has become a vital part of local culture and attracts aviation enthusiasts from across the region.

In 2025, the show is scheduled for September 27th from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM at Leesburg Executive Airport, 1001 Sycolin Rd SE. Visitors can park in off-airport parking lots (Heritage High School and Segra Field), from which free shuttles depart to the venue. Before the show, visitors can view the participating aircraft and static displays, which change yearly. This year, various aircraft, including modern and historic models, such as the L-39, TBM Avenger, PT-17 Stearman, Douglas C-54 Skymaster, F/A-18F Super Hornet, UH-1 “Huey” Helicopter, C-47 Skytrain, Air North Douglas DC-3, P-51 Mustang, SNJ/T6 Texan, Grumman TBF Avenger, Japanese “Kate” Bomber, and others. Of course, the most exciting events will take place in the sky.

In 2025, the skies will feature aerobatic performances from The Flying Circus and Warbird Thunder Airshows, along with spectacular master classes from professional pilots and additional flights featuring a wide variety of aircraft – from legendary World War II aircraft to modern sports models showcasing speed, maneuverability, and technical sophistication.

If you plan to attend the event with children, consider watching the animated films Planes (2013) and Planes: Fire & Rescue (2014) at home. Afterward, your little spectators will surely fall in love with airplanes and react with delight, turning a day at the airshow into a true adventure!
