For those looking for a great place to relax or celebrate an important event surrounded by nature and winemaking traditions, there is a special place – Creek’s Edge Winery in Lovettsville, Virginia. This family-owned winery project embodies coziness, warmth, and soulfulness, becoming an ideal option for wine tours and celebrations of any size.
It all began in 2002, when Tadd Durden bought a plot of land overlooking Catoctin Creek to plant vineyards (Chambourcin, Chardonnay, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon), which were to supply berries to other wineries. However, while working on the vineyards, Tadd was inspired by the idea of creating a legacy for his three children. Tadd designed and built Creek’s Edge Winery, turning it into a real work of art.

The main building is designed in the style of a farmhouse barn, using local stone, black walnut, and wrought iron. Inside, the eye-catching spiral barrel-style staircase leads to the tasting room, amphitheater, and cellar. In 2016, Tedd received the Signatures of Loudoun Design Excellence Award for this staircase. The winery turned out to be very atmospheric and cozy. Visitors to the winery can sit by the open fire, on the creek bank in chairs, or on the covered porch.
For weddings and private events, the winery offers a variety of indoor and outdoor venues – including a beautiful wooden porch overlooking the vineyards. The Covered Pavilion can accommodate up to 185-200 guests and is perfect for ceremonies, performances, and concerts.

If you appreciate sweets and real-quality chocolate, Creek’s Edge Winery will be a pleasant discovery for you. Here, you will find signature chocolate truffles prepared by a local pastry chef. Each truffle is a small work of art: delicate chocolate melts in your mouth, revealing rich cocoa notes and the subtle aroma of added ingredients. This dessert perfectly complements a glass of your favorite wine, creating a harmonious combination of tastes and aromas.
Nestled in the hills of Lovettsville, Northern Virginia, Creek’s Edge Winery is more than just a place to make wine. It’s a soulful space where every night is an event. Live music, yoga, seasonal celebrations, and creative workshops are all there to help you unwind, feel part of something special, and enjoy the best that the wine region has to offer.
The Events section of the official website features announcements of events ranging from melodic evenings with live music to creative workshops and seasonal celebrations that inspire, connect, and create lasting memories.
